8 Bishopsgate – Taking Sustainability to Scale in The City

Maximising development area by form finding collaborative approach at the earliest stage of the project and arranging the massing around lean component building blocks to develop conceptually efficient form

With the early focus of carbon reduction, a ‘total architecture’ approach with the use of innovative software and façade technology, a smart active façade making it UK’s tallest BREEAM Outstand building with façade playing key part

Utilising a lean façade system that adapts to the solar conditions, overshadowing from current and future buildings, limiting solar gains to high performance LETI requirements and maximise daylighting and views out of the building ensuring occupant comfort and wellness

The lean design, with a mission statement of ‘less is more’ in terms of material within the façade was only possible with the selection of an optimised smart active system

SFE Gala Dinner & Awards

The Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineering (CIBSE) have joined forces with Zak to co-locate the SFE Gala Dinner & Awards with the Zak World of Façades London conference.

The awards will take place upon the completion of the Zak World of Façades conference and will bring together close to 1,000 professionals from across the globe and will represent one of the largest gatherings for the sector. The awards will be judged by an expert panel and be presented at a high-profile award dinner, attended by leaders across the industry.
The Façade 2022 Design and Engineering Awards recognise and reward excellence and achievements in façade engineering, raising the profile of, and drawing attention to, the importance of this discipline in modern architecture. Previous winners have included the Bloomberg HQ in London, and the Morpheus hotel in Macau, China.

For more info about the awards, visit www.sfecompetition.org

The entry to the dinner & awards is separate from the conference. Visit the FAQ section on how to gain access for the same.

The registrations start at 0800 hrs. The team at the registration desk will be fully equipped with the details of those confirmed to attend. If your registration is confirmed, you will only be asked to quote your registration number and drop your visiting cards at the registration desk to collect your badge and kit.

Post the conference, the organisers will be uploading all the presentations who's permission has been received to distribute online at this event website.

The full-day conference will include access to the conference hall, exhibit area, lunch and networking session, delegate kits and presentation copies.

If your firm is on our guest list, then a maximum of 1-4 delegates passes per firm are allocated depending on the firm size. However, the seat allocation is on first come first serve basis.

As the seats are allocated on a first come first serve basis, the registration will close once the hall seating capacity is reached.

Apart from the high standard hygiene protocols and checks from the venues housekeeping team, we will be implementing the standard operating procedures and guidelines mandated by the local authorities to ensure a safe event. Please refer to the detailed safety precautions at the top of this page.
